Being versatile, polyurethane coatings offer many technical advantages over competing coating systems. Two component PU coating is seeing widespread use in application areas like the automotive sector, wind turbines, aircraft, transportation etc. A major disadvantage of the classic, solvent-based polyurethane coatings is the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present at application viscosity. New regulations force formulators to keep the VOC content below 350 g/L and recent developments provide solutions to this problem.
