Titre : Global market and technology trends in coatings Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : J. Bourne, Auteur Année de publication : 2009 Article en page(s) : p. 244-246 Note générale : Biblio. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The global market for paint, ink, adhesives and sealants is estimated to be worth around $ 135 to $ 145 billion (~100 billion), of which paint is now around $90 to 95 billion. Decorative paint accounts for some $30 to $35 billion and is mostly water-borne, with some conventional solids solvent-borne technology. However, industrial coatings have been more dramatically affected by the need for compliant technologies, such as powder, radcure, water-borne and high-solids, ie > 65% volume solids at application. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : It is believed that the potential applications and development of nanotechnology, and the use of nanomaterials in consumer products, are proceeding much faster than our knowledge and understanding of the safety, health and environmental issues of these materials. Without this knowledge, how can we defend against the potential risks that these materials may pose to human health and the environment? What might these risks be, and how can exposure to nanoparticles be measured and assessed? Note de contenu : - BACKGROUND
