The RIFT (Resin Infusion under Flexible Tool) process is widely used for the manufacturing of composite parts in different sectors, from aerospace to aeronautics and automotive. To obtain high-quality products, the preform needs to be fully impregnated with resin in a reasonable time to avoid the formation of dry regions. For large components, proper design of the infusion network and evacuation ports is fundamental for efficient mould filling, and a simulation software, with its ability to simulate resin flow through a fibrous bed, is the best way to solve problems related to the infusion process. |
