L'acier est constitué d'au moins deux éléments, le fer, très majoritaire, et le carbone, dans des proportions comprises entre 0,02 % et 2 % en masse1.
C'est essentiellement la teneur en carbone qui confère à l'alliage les propriétés du métal qu'on appelle "acier". Il existe d’autres métaux à base de fer qui ne sont pas des aciers comme les fontes et les ferronickels par exemple.

SilanesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Fusion bonded epoxy coating, also known as fusion-bond epoxy powder coating and commonly referred to as FBE coating, is an epoxy based powder coating that is widely used to protect various sizes of steel pipes used in pipeline construction, concrete reinforcing re bars and on a wide variety of piping connections, valves etc. from deterioration due to corrosion. Protecting pipeline systems from corrosion is essential to prevent leaks and consequent possible environmental disasters, fire and explosion, personal in jury, service disruption, and costly maintenance. This paper reviews history, chemistry, manufacturing process, surface preparation, application, characteristics for FBE. It is indicated that FBE was introduced as a protective coating early 60's. The coating is applied by manual spraying guns, or fluid-up process, and blast cleaning is the most commonly used method for preparation of steel surfaces. "Induction heating" or "oven heating" are mostly used as heating processes. Advantages of FBE are : ease of application, less waste of material, rapid application, faster production rates compared with the conventional liquid coatings. Note de contenu : - FBE-HISTORY

Chemical compounds that are incorporated in printing ink, laminating adhesives and polymeric packaging materials to improve functionality, may interact with food components during processing or storage and migrate into the food. Once these compounds reach a specified limit, food quai ity and safety may be jeopardized. Migration limits have been set for many substances based on the toxicological risk assessment of these substances. These limits are included in Food Contact regulations with the aim to control the exposure to these substances to protect our health. It is a mandatory requirement for consumers to determine impact of packaging in contact with food on food safety. However, Printing ink and packaging manufacturers must be prepared to deal with a complex global regulatory landscape, in which individual jurisdictions have adopted different regulatory frameworks for the review and approval of food packaging and food contact materials and issue compliance declaration. The Glocal and Global regulations of Printing Inks on Food Contact Materials are not fully harmonized. It varies region to region or country to country even customer to customer. The approval process can be further complicated by customer procurement requirements based on voluntary standards promulgated by industry and trade groups, as well as by the specific substances used in printing ink and packaging materials.
