Résumé : |
Research by Avery Dennison Specialty Tape Division has demonstrated the recyclability of pressure sensitive adhesives when recycled with compatible materials. The conclusion is useful to engineers who wish to combine flexibility in the design of automotive assemblies with environmental responsibility.
Because OEM performance requirements demand permanent attachment of interior trim for the life of the car disassembly of door components and recycling of the separate parts is not practical. Therefore, recent performance research has focused on the effects of up-front designing for recyclability, and the regrinding and remolding of new parts from old parts, according to thomas C. Epple, senior research associate, Avery Dennison Specialty Tape Division.
"Disassembling parts before recycling would be expensive", says Epple. "The only route to economical recycling is to process the parts as a whole and to design parts that can be recycled as a whole". Epple says suppliers of foam and vinyl used in this application are also looking at the economics of recycling. |
