Résumé : |
In this article we have shown that the new polyisocyanates effectively crosslink polyurethane dispersions as demonstrated by improvements in softening point and wet peel strength. Improvements have also been presenting in the performance of selected non-polyurethane dispersions when reacted with these polyisocyanates. The performance advantages of the new crosslinkers, Desmodur XO-671 and Desmodur XO-672, can be summarized as follows. Performance characteristics of Desmodur XO-671 are
- improved dispersibility relative to the standard crosslinkers;
- requires minimal/no agitation after initial mixing;
- non-discoloring aliphatic polyisocyanate; and
- long pot life of aliphatic systems. Performance characteristics of Desmodur XO-672 are
- readily dispersible compared to competitve aromatic polyisocyanate;
- useful pot life (softening point test); and
- highest softening points with the dispersions tested. These polyisocyanate crosslinkers are two additional products for the adhesive compounder to crosslink aqueous dispersions. |
