Efforts on monocoat systems are getting profound interest and importance in industries over conventional primer, topcoat based two coat system or primer, high build MIO and topcoat based three coat system. Higher productivity, fast return to service, lower manpower and inventory cost make monocoat system highly desired. This research is aimed at developing a new and improved coating that employs silane modified hydrophobic nano zinc oxide coated micaceous Iron oxide as the active pigment to achieve synergistic corrosion resistant and barrier properties in a single coat that can combine the effect of primer and high build MIO coat. In the present paper synergistic effect and performances of silane modified hydrophobic nano zinc oxide coated micaceous Iron oxide were studied on different type of metalIic substrates. It is usually referred to as "China Clay" because it was first discovered at Kao-Ling, in China. The term kaolin is generally used fora set of common clay minerals having significant amount of kaolinite.
Of specific commercial interest is the degree of crystallinity of Kaolin that controls the key film property that is brightness, whiteness, opacity, gloss, film strength. Kaolins whiteness and laminar nature makes it extremely suitable for its broad use in coating industry as an extender.
In its hydrous or calcined forms, kaolin is capable of improving the optical, mechanical and rheological properties of a paint. These are widely used in range of PVC paints whether it's glossy, satin or matt paint. They deliver mainly three properties that is increased opacity, whiteness and scrub resistance. In a time when coating manufactures are keen to reduce the TiO2 cost burden, optimization without compromising the performance is a greater challenge, and Kaolin offers an optimum solution.
This paper describes various possibilities and some commercial aspects which Kaolin can create for both TiO2 optimization as well as performance enhancement.Note de contenu : - FUNDAMENTAL REASONS FOR KAOLIN SUPPORTING OPTICAL PERFORMANCE : High PVC paints - Low/mid PVC paints - Kaolin vs other extenders - Materials used - Characterization

Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Now let us turn our attention to the manufacture of bases and the precautions one has to take during the process. It is very essential that Bases so manufactured should have almost the same property in all the batches or else the tinted bases will show shade variation from batch to batch. This is not at all desirable as it will create a chaos in the market. Such variations will not be accepted by the dealers and Painters/applicators as shade variation in one wall will spoil the aesthetic appeal and will lead to customer rejection. The manufacturer may lose h is creditability and good will. In order to avoid this there are quite few precautions which are to be observed so that bases manufactured are without any variation, post tinting. The following broad precautions can be listed.
