Modern adhesives are cost-effective method of joining various materials. As a result, it is important to establish the optimal values for adhesive strength and cohesiveness of the joint in each case. Gluing metals is especially important in the machine-building, aviation and automotive industries, as are applications such as flange coupling and sealing, thread locking and sealing, retaining and structural bonding. In this operational range, anaerobic curing acrylate adhesives have worked for nearly 40 years.
Instead of complicated tests for component layout, computer-aided design is now being used.
Numerical calculation techniques, such as finite element methods (FEM) and finite difference methods (FDM), have contributed immensely towards lower manufacturing costs and development times. However, these demanding procedures require the exact knowledge of the basic material parameters, so industrial material testing needs measuring methods capable of provide realistic data.Note de contenu : - In situ testing
