Sulfate de baryumIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A major problem sometimes observed with powder coatings is a colour change known as 'blanching' caused by water penetration. Its severity is affected by both the surface area and modification of the inorganic filler and pigment particles. Experimental functionalised grades of both blanc fixe and titanium dioxide reduced blanching, as predicted. Note de contenu : - Advantages and problems of barium sulfate filler

Stabilisants (chimie)Index. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Most buildings use concrete to provide structural integrity. This concrete typically comes in contact with other building elements such as windows, façades, etc., and these dissimilar surfaces are often “joined” together by sealants. For the integrity of the structure, it is critical that the adhesion between the sealant and the substrates (e.g., concrete with windows, façades, etc.) sustains various environmental stresses like rain, sunlight, and temperature changes. The adhesion between sealant and concrete is particularly challenging on exposure to rain due to very aggressive (high pH) environment in concrete.
Currently available sealants require a primer to retain adhesion under wet conditions, which increases the construction cost and the levels of VOCs. However, a new SPUR+ prepolymer-based sealant can retain adhesion to concrete under wet conditions without the use of a primer. This adhesion was demonstrated using both U.S. and EU testing norms for adhesion to concrete under wet conditions (ASTM C794-06 and ISO 11590).En ligne : http://www.adhesivesmag.com/articles/92867-advancing-adhesives-formulating-seala [...]

Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Silane terminated adhesives in the past years have become more and more in demand because of their negligible emissions and their favourable properties. Until now, it was customary to use calcium carbonates as fillers in these formulations. By working with Neuburg Siliceous Earth, the property profile of such adhesives can be further improved. Sulfate de baryumIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Silanisation of barium sulphate and titanium dioxide.
Fundamental lab work and results in the field of particle functionalisation are presented. The focus is on the silanisation of barium sulphate and titanium dioxide. It is important to verify the availability and reactivity of the organic group of the silanes. The potential of this new generation of particles was investigated using various powder coating systems to inhibit effects like blanching.
Surface functionalisation of inorganic particles on the base of barium sulphate and titanium dioxide with reactive silanes enables the formation of covalent bonds between the particle surface and the surrounding matrix. Such a connection prevents the penetration of water and subsequently the blanching.
This new generation of functionalised barium sulphate can also have a positive effect on properties such as mechanical strength, corrosion and chemical resistance.Note de contenu : - FUNCTIONALISATION OF PARTICLE SURFACES

SilanesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Fusion bonded epoxy coating, also known as fusion-bond epoxy powder coating and commonly referred to as FBE coating, is an epoxy based powder coating that is widely used to protect various sizes of steel pipes used in pipeline construction, concrete reinforcing re bars and on a wide variety of piping connections, valves etc. from deterioration due to corrosion. Protecting pipeline systems from corrosion is essential to prevent leaks and consequent possible environmental disasters, fire and explosion, personal in jury, service disruption, and costly maintenance. This paper reviews history, chemistry, manufacturing process, surface preparation, application, characteristics for FBE. It is indicated that FBE was introduced as a protective coating early 60's. The coating is applied by manual spraying guns, or fluid-up process, and blast cleaning is the most commonly used method for preparation of steel surfaces. "Induction heating" or "oven heating" are mostly used as heating processes. Advantages of FBE are : ease of application, less waste of material, rapid application, faster production rates compared with the conventional liquid coatings. Note de contenu : - FBE-HISTORY
