Résumé : |
The EU-funded research project, R2R-CIGS, seeks to develop low-cost continuous production processes for flexible solar cells.
Atomic layer deposition (ALD) is a coatings technology widely used in the micro-electronics industry as it can create very thin coatings of high quality. However, in its normal form, it is relatively slow as the coating precursors are applied sequentially. A system has been developed in which the different precursors can be applied sequentially to a moving web, achieving significantly higher production rates.
The development of this coating system and the introduction of the first commercial coating machines of this type are described. |
