Résumé : |
The oxazolidine product (Zoldine RD-20) and the oxazolidine-aldimine product (Zoldine RD-4) have been shown to perform as highly effective reactive diluents. These products both possess extremely low intrinsic viscosities at 100% solids and function as very good diluents in millbases or when blended with higher viscosity polyols. They also provide great flexibility in pot life and controlled reactivity as co-reactants for polyisocyanates in high-solids coatings.
Oxazolidine and oxazolidine-aldimine reactive diluents were shown to significantly increase solids at equivalent system viscosity in polyurethane coatings. As a result these materials represent a viable technology to significantly reduce VOC in higher solids systems. Performance improvements can also be expected in the areas of impact resistance and abrasion resistance when these compounds are employed as an integral part of high-solids polyurethane coatings. More importantly, these compounds will substantially improve the weathering performance of polyester polyurethanes even in the absence of UV inhibitors. |
