One of the basic activities in any coating work is getting the paint ready for application by opening the paint container or containers and mixing the paint. Sometimes, thinning of the paint will also required.
This paper discribes proper methods of mixing and thinning paint, including one- and two-component paint materials, and stresses the importance of following directions and avoiding common mistackes.
Mixing and thinning appear to be simple activities that don't require much thought, but very often coating failures can be traced to improper mixing or thinning. Let's take a look at some of the troubles that can develop. |
