Température de retraitIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : In the present investigation, a cleaner and eco-friendly method to leather tanning process based on a novel pre-tanning agent (Q16) has been developed. Q16 was synthesized by cyanuric chloride and p-aminobenzoic acid, then detected by Fourier transform infrared (FUR). The combination tannage process of Q16 and chrome (Q16-Cr) was optimized. In comparison with combination tannage of. F-90-Cr and traditional chrome tanning methods, the physico-chemical characteristics including shrinkage temperature, rnechanical properties and organoleptic properties of the tanned leather were analyzed, the micro-morphology of grain surface and cross section which reflect the dispersion and texture of fibre were evaluated. The distribution of chromium in the cross section was detected by Dispersive X-ray Analysis (EDAX), and the chromium concentration was also determined by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry (AES-ICP). The results are shown that the Q16-Cr-tanned leather has better tanning performance even than chrome-tanned leather. The grain surface is smoother and the collagen fibres are well-dispersed. The Q16-Cr tanning method irnproves the absorption degree of chromium, and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) is significantly reduced. Hence, this cleaner non-salt pickling method for less chrome tanning process encourages the sustainable development of leather industry and cleaner production. VinyleIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Leather solid waste, is one of the biggest polluters in the leather industry and it seriously restricts the sustainable development of the industry. In this study, we developed a new technology of preparing a leather retanning agent using collagen protein extracted from solid leather waste and recycled into the leather production process. This collagen based retanning agent, bearing a selective filling property, is a potential solution to reduce differentiation between different locations of the leather. The leather, after retanning treatment, is full and has very good mechanical performances, such as tensile strength and tear strength. Thus, the new research has opened up new windows for the treatment of solid leather waste presenting recycling utilisation in the leather industry. ThermochromieIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The emerging new applications of thermochromic pigments in leather industry could give a promising opportunity to create innovative designs of smart thermochromie leathers and these leathers are well known with their colour changing effect depending on thermal activation temperature of the thermochromic pigments. A long product his also needed for thermochromic leathers due to the demand for additive use which will enhance the fastness properties of the microencapsulated thermochromic pigments. This study aimed at increasing the light and rubbing fastness values of the leathers that change colour with temperature. Touch (magenta ; 31°C) and cold (blue; 15°C) activated two thermochromic pigments were used in order to provide the colour change of the finished leathers, UV absorbent and Cross-linking chemical additives were used along. with thermochromic pigments in the finishing procedure to increase the fastness properties of the leathers. Colour change features, rubbing and light fastness properties of thermochromic leathers were analyged by a spectrophotometric method in addition to ISO standards of related fastness properties. The use of a UV absorbent in the finishing procedure lead to an increase in the light fastness values of touch and. cold activated therrnochromic leathers. Likewise it was revealed that the use of cross-linker in the top coat of finishing process.improved the rubbing fastness properties of thermochromic leathers. Structure moléculaireIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The spatial conformation model of type I collagen molecules (1 cgd) is simulated at different temperatures on the basis of Amber software firstly. Then the refationship between structure stability and the moisture permeability and air permeability of naturel leather and temperature change is researched further : Thirdly, Setting 298K, 338K, 378K and 418K as simulation temperature, the change regulation of Root Mean Square Deviation (RMSD.) [the manner in which the RMSD of 1 cgd increases with rase in lemperature] and Radius of Gyration (RG) at four kinds of temperatures are researched respectively. These researches indicate that deviation level of the molecular structure of type I collagen is different from the original molecular structure at room temperature with the increase of temperature, and the structural stability of collagen molecules decreased with the increase of temperature, and the molecular structure of proteins becomes more compact. The study result is consistent with thermal shrinkage and wrinkling phenomenon of leather in macroscopic experiment. Cuirs et peaux -- Propriétés mécaniquesIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : It is generally recognized that, in an industrial process, drying is the most energy-consuming step. lt occurs several times in the leather processing. Leather production, accordingly, involves a crucial intensive energy use during this process to remove residual moisture. Additionally, the drying steps also necessitate substantial periods with respect to the total time required for tanning. Drying by hot dry air requires shorter times compared to moist air ; whereas the impact of the convective drying on the dried quality of leather remains unclear. Regarding these facts, the main objective of this study is to focus on improving the influencing factors — mainly the drying temperature, air velocity and humidity which impact on certain criteria in the leather's quality, especially the tensile strength, extension at break and tear. The leather used in the work is from cattle, a crust black leather, taken just prier to finishing. Experiments have been carried out at a temperatures varying between 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60°C, performed at three levels of air velocity , 1.5 and 2m/s) and with humidity at 15%, 30% and 45%. The results obtained make it clear that drying at 50°C with injected humidity of 15% and an air velocity of 1.0m/s seems the most optimal in our case, as it gives a better quality leather.

Tannage Résumé : In this study we developed a semi-industrial-scale tanning process to replace chrome tanning in the production of high quality prosthetic leathers, based on a multi-step vegetable-aluminium tannage. Tara and mimosa tannins were used as vegetable tanning agents in order to obtain a wet-white tanned leather ; a pretannage with glutaraldehyde or a preparation based on masked multi-functional phosphonium compound (THPS) were introduced to improve penetration of tannins. The treatment of pelt with THPS instead of chromium before vegetable-aluminium tanning allows it to reach a shrinkage temperature of up to 106°C by using half as much tannin. The liquid wastes of the phosphonium compounds and the tanning vegetable-aluminium solution are capable of biodegradation to the level of some proteins, which is evidenced by the ratio BOD:COD. Besides, the absence of chromium compounds in the liquid waste improves the biodegradation of the other substances. it was determined that leather treatment with glutaraldehyde or phosphonium compounds positively influences the leather's ageing resistance. The leather tanned with tara tannins has more stable properties than the others assessed. The extra stability is likely to be due to mechanism of tanning process. Peculiarities of interaction between vegetable tannins and collagen were studied by IR-spectroscopy. The influence of pretreatment by different compounds before tanning on the thermal properties of derma collagen was studied by DTA and DSC. Note de contenu : - Materials
