Titre : What is a thermic fluid heating system ? Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Charuchandra Dewasthale, Auteur Année de publication : 2001 Article en page(s) : p. 47-52 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A thermic fluid system is used for heating required in the process by means of circulating a media, which is capable of absorbing and releasing the heat as and when required. The main components of a thermic fluid (henceforth called TF) systems are : (1) heater and its accessories; (2) media (thermic fluid); (3) piping and user equipment.
The major advantages of this system are :
1. A thermic is not governed by IBR, but it comes under the factory inspectorate.
2. Since there is no water involved, expensive water treatment cost is eliminated. So is the cause for choking and puncturing or downtime.
3. Energy efficient operations. Overall system efficiency of TF system is always higher than a conventional heating system (say steam).
4. Skilled manpower to handle and operate a system is not required. (like in the case of boilers, we require an IBR approved attendant).
5. Higher temperatures can be attained at atmospheric pressures.
