Réactions chimiques organiquesIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : According to current forecasts, the expected worldwide consumption of polyamide 6 (PA 6) in 2020 will be 5.5 million metric tons with a stable annual growth of 2.5-3.0%. More Chan 650/o of it will be fiber-grade polymers. The over-proportionally strong growth of production capacity (expected annual growth of 4.0%) exceeds the expected growth of consumption and causes pressure on the polyamide producers. The endeavors to optimize production efficiency and to reduce production costs are rising. The biggest cost factor in the production of PA 6 is raw material cost (g-caprolactam). Thus, beside top product quality, minimum raw material consumption is most important for producers. This directs the focus on handling the internal recirculation stream containing caprolactam-monomer and oligomers. The effective and professional handling of this stream influences bath product quality and profitability of the plant. Note de contenu : - Extraction as core process step

La thermostabilité varie aussi selon le degré de supercontractionIndex. décimale : 677.3 Fibres animales Résumé : Spider silk and its derivative synthetic biomaterials offer a promising avenue in sustainable materials science for diverse advanced and multi-functionality applications (renewable resource, green spinning process, mechanically strong and/or stretchable, biocompatible and biodegradable). Scientists must still overcome some technological challenges, such as improving the production of 551 materials, controlling the final material structures and properties, scaling up the production of spidroins of appropriate molecular weight and sequence and ensunng the biosafety of spidroin-based products. In addition to the requirement of considering the lite cycle assessment of the material itself, sustainability will mainly rely on reducing consumption and choosing appropriate, safe and durable applications. This in tum wïll require an urgent, profound and unavoidable societal transformation, in particular a reflection about the goal and use of technologies. Note de contenu : - SPIDER SILK PRODUCTION

Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : With the development of innovative yarn structures and the required technologies, the ITM proved that highly oriented, homogenously blended card webs, slivers and high-performance hybrid yarns from recycled carbon fibers (rCF) can be produced for load-bearing composite components. In addition, the technical challenges and the technological lirnits of the production of high-performance yarns made from rCF could be shown. This provides the opportunity to transfer the ITM-developed process chain for hybrid yarn production at reproducible quality into industrial application. Furthermore, the research efforts allow a transfer of the findings in the next step for a requirement-adapted yarn production from pure rCF for thermosetting applications, and from other high-performance fiber materials.

Textiles et tissus -- Emploi dans l'industrie automobileIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Polylactic acid (PLA) is one of the most promising biodegradable polymers that provides a unique combination of advantages : it is a material from annually renewable resources with the look and feel of other natural fibers, yet with the performance properties of syntheticones. PLA successfully bridges the gap between synthetic and natural fibers and fends a wide range of uses, but despite their large market share, commercial PLA grades still do not fulfil all the mechanical and thermal requirements for some applications. Nowadays allopathic aliments, hydrogel loaded dressing pads are used as wound dressings. This study was done to promote herbal oriented dressings. Electrospinning is a technique which produces polymer solution into nanofibers by high electric voltage. Electrospun fibers resemble extra-cellular matrix and are successfully used in drug delivery and wound dressings. In this study, PVA and methanolic eadract of Tridax Procumbens leaf in the ratio of 80/20 was electrospun and PLM images were taken. Formations of beads were observed from the images. This is because of the addition of that extract, whereas PVA alone does not formed beads. Note de contenu : - Materials
