Today, pearl lustre pigments as one category of special effect pigments play an important role in colouring industries. These pigments with their lustre and interference effects are central to the generation of many new and unique effects when used in printing inks, plastics, cosmetic formulations and paints for automotive and industrial applications. The unique pearl lustre effect is produced by light reflection, interference and in some cases also absorption. Pearl lustre pigments enhance the appearance created by other colourants. Printing with these special effect pigments fulfills the highest aesthetic requirements. Today, many products are printed with them especially in cases when the article should reflect a touch of luxury and artistic style. |
