Résumé : |
The latest technology in hydroxy functional acrylic resins, improve the state-of-the-art of waterborne two-component (WB2K) polyurethane coatings.
A significant improvement in the state-of-the-art of waterborne resins for 2K isocyanate curing has been developed. The Novos resin developments are free of any co-solvents, offering formulation freedom in type and amount of co-solvents to tailor and balance specific properties such as BFFT, hardness and gloss. Application robustness has been improved by another step in maximising BFFT (up to 140µm) while improving the miscibility with economical hydrophobic isocyanates. The combination of these attributes facilitates the formulation of WB2K coatings very low VOC levels and high BFFTs that are suitable for topcoats, clear coats or even DTM one layer systems. |

- RESULTS AND DISCUSSION : Novel waterborne resins for two-component polyurethanes - 1. Co-solvent free polyols : unprecendented WB2K formulation freedom - 2. Blister-free film thickness (BFFT) - 3. Appearance and chemical resistance - 4. Hardness - Application results 'put the theory and findings into use' : A. WB2K for topcoat that is economical and robust - B. WB2K clearcoat with low VOC and high gloss |
