Sols -- Teneur en chromeIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The chrome content of soil fertilized with chrome containing sludge over a long term and the content of chrome in wheat grown from this soil were determined so as to confirm the influence of chrome containing sludge fertiliser. The different states of chrome existing in the soil were separated and their levels were determined. Note de contenu :
- EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE : The influence of chrome containing sludge on soil - Mixed acid digestion method for chrome determination (Wet Method) : a) Dividing the existing states of chrome into four types - b) Determination of chrome states existing in soil - Influence of chrome containing sludge on wheat growing in the soil

SolubilitéIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The chrome in tannery effluents is in the relatively nontoxic trivalent state, and not in sufficient concentrations to inhibit municipal sewage treatment. Municipal sludges applied to agricultural land could safely contain up to 500 ppm chrome. The final limitation of 112 ppm of chrome in soif is not realistic, since natural agricultural soils throughout the world contain more chrome than this. Adding chrome to the soil may even be beneficial, since many animal diets are chrome-deficient.
Most leather is now tanned with chromium salts or vegetable and synthetic tannins and combinations of these (although considerable amounts of zirconium, alum, and glutaraldehyde are also in use). Since chromium is so widely used, it is important to consider the effects on the environment of the chemical state and concentrations in which it is discharged in tannery effluents and sludges.Note de contenu : - Chrome valencies
