TricotIndex. décimale : 677 Textiles Résumé : Is it possible to produce complexly contoured composite components from multiaxial non-crimp fabrics without having to dispose of half of the expensive high-performance fiber material as waste ? A new technology for the production of low-cost biaxial fabrics with little waste was developed at the ITM on the basis of warp-knitting technology for lightweight applications suitable for large series production. For this purpose, an alternating weft yarn system was derived as the preferred variant from several solution approaches developed and successfully implemented on a multiaxial warp knitting machine by means of a retrofittable splicing module. This enables to process the high-performance weft yarns for textile semi-finished products close to the final contour, regardless of the machine width. The amount of waste in the weft direction can be reduced by up to 90%, depending on the fiber component. This makes the production of complexly contoured FRP components more material-efficient and sustainable. Note de contenu : - Starting situation and problem
