Résumé : |
All of the traditional printing processes require pressure to transfer ink to paper. In 1937 Chester Carlton patented a system of printing that relied on the principles of electrostatics to transfer ink to paper. There was no pressure or impaction involved in the production of the print. The process became known as Xerography and the era of non-impact printing was born. Xerography is now more generally known as Electrophotography ant the device is described as a machine or engine rather than a printing press. |
