Polysulfide coatings are used in a wide variety of environmental protection applications. The suitability of these coatings for such applications is explained by reference to the chemical structure of the polysulfide polymer. A description of the different cure chemistries available to these coatings is given. The benefits of using polysulfide polymers as modifiers for epoxy and alkyd coatings are also discussed. Case histories are used to illustrate the use of polysulfide coatings for chemical containment, potable water protection and corrosion prevention. |
