Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The esterification of Lac with rosin (Abietic acid) was investigated for the preparation of Rosin modified Lac resins. Four different compositions were tried at 200-220°C. The products obtained were found to have excellent film properties with smooth 8 glossy finishes. They were also having excellent resistance to water, chemical 8 solvents. 1:3 weight ratio of lac: rosin was found to give superior results. These rosin modified lac resins were also utilized for the preparation of gloss paint. The paints were found to have excellent film properties with smooth 8 glossy films. All the samples showed no corrosion for 8 days in humidity chamber. Note de contenu : - Composition of lac

The hot melt thermoplastic road marking paints were evaluated for their properties like softening point, luminance factor, cracking resistance, flow resistance, drying time and resistance to water, salt water and lubricating oil. The properties obtained were found to have within the limits of M. O.S. T. specifications meant for hot melt thermoplastic road marking paints. This type of paint dries quickly in less than ten minutes and so is ideal for marking under continuous traffic conditions.
