An important factor in the cure of epoxy resins is a knowledge of their rates of reaction. By a combination of chemical kinetics and computer modelling, actual rates of reaction can be determined for many epoxy systems. These rates con be used bath to guide cure cycles and shelf life and also to idesigni and tailor epoxies for specific uses. New research on the applications of this technique to several epoxy systems are described. |
