To protect a building, the applied masonry paint must have good water resistance, a good water vapour tranmission rate (WVTR) and good weatherability. Futhermore, good dirt pickup resistance, colour maintenance, low chalking and good elasticity of the coating are required a long-pasting paint. All these properties of the coating are influenced by the choice of the binder. By copolymerising different monomers, it is possible ti vary the properties of the binders over an extremely wide range. |
