In the last few decades, the paint industry has made major investments in water-borne paint systems, due to pending legislation on the emission of solvents from the paint. The two most important reasons for the shift towards paint systems that contain less solvent are the polluting effet that the solvent have on the environment, and the effect of these volatile organic compounds (VOCs) on health, in particular that of the professional painter. |
