Where revious works have related LCPVC to resin particle size, here the resin and the pigmentary system particle sizes are not consideres independently, and the expression which is deduced is a function of the ration between them. By using an idealised "compact spheres model", based on the theoretical CPVC definition, a new model expression is developed to mathematically determine the LCPVC. The proposed model is semi-theoretical in nature, since it requires the use of constants which have been obtained experimentally by other authors.
