Hydroxy-functional polyether and polyester macrodiols, often refered to as soft segments, have found wide applications as reactive building blocks for the synthesis of polyurethane resins and binders. The appropriate choice of soft segments for the synthesis of PUR binders allows for a broad spectra of paint properties. a,w-Polymethacrylate diols represent a new class of macrodiols which successfully combines positive properties of ester and acrylate structures in one single macrodiol. Depending on the formulation, the following benefits can be shown: higher hardness, better flexibility, good humidity stress resistance, improved hydrolysis resistance, better weathering resistance. |
