Titre : Flexible super-durable polyester based powder coatings Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : yVES Merck, Auteur ; Daniel Maetens, Auteur ; Luc Moens, Auteur ; Kris Buysens, Auteur Année de publication : 1999 Article en page(s) : p. 18-24 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A new types of carboxyl terminated polyester resin, combining excellent flexibility with outstanding outdoor durability when used in pigmented powder coatings, has been developed. The resin can be cross-linked with either triglycidylisocyanurate (TGIC) or a hydroxyalkylamide type hardener and will be known as flexible super-durable polyester. Note de contenu : - Testing the durability of coating
- Resin characteristics and preparation of the coatings
- Flexibility : Usable in areas such as coil coating
- Weathering resistance
- A good correlation between QUV-A and Florida natural exposure
- Corrosion resistance is comparable to classic superdurable systems
- Usable in architecture in tropical and sub-tropical environmentsEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1e7wtQEquA-7KF4-NTTUAJbgmoFy5ClAM/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=11222

Titre : A new polyester resin for béta-hydroxyalkylamide powder coatings Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Daniel Maetens, Auteur ; Luc Moens, Auteur ; Luc Boogaerts, Auteur ; Kris Buysens, Auteur Année de publication : 1999 Article en page(s) : p. 26-33 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A carbonyl terminated polyester resin, of novel molecular composition , has been developed for use in powder coatings containing beta-hydroxyalkylamide ( HAA) type hardeners. The design of this new resin enables powders to be formulated that exhibit outsatnding flow without sacrificing other properties, such as acid rain resistance, or colour stability on overbake. Note de contenu : - Safe alternatives for TGIC
- All advantages are in one and the same polyester resin
- Low viscosity with an excellent hydrolysis/UV resistance is very difficult to design
- Reactivity only depends on the structure of the polyester
- The new resin should get outstanding flow with excellent corrosion and UV resistance
- Materials
- Formulations/ processing
- Flow curves
- Wave-scan measurements
- Corrosion resistance
- Weather resistance
- Overbaking/ gasoven resistance
- Flexibility
- Visco-elastic behaviour can be described using the storage and the loss modulus
- Flow behaviour and general appearance of " Primid XL-552" based powder coatings
- Flow behaviour and general appearance of "Primid QM-1260" basedf powder coatings
- The best flow is obtained with the new resin
- Degassing during curing
- New resin shows the lowest melt viscosity and the lowest reactivity
- New system shows hydrolytic stability
- Monomer composition does not prove any negative influence of UV-resistance
- Overbaking and gasoven resistance
- New resin is found to be as good as for the references considering mechanical propertiesEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kDUDSla0lmdozsrl2ssq4dbZuGE9T4xH/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=11187

Revêtements poudre:Peinture poudreIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Powder coating systems as economic and environmental friendly alternative to solvent borne counterparts are still on the race to capture a higher market share and to replace conventional systems. Due to their efficient application with nearly hundred percent utilization of the coating material and their technical performance it was possible to penetrate into several market segments including automotive, architectual, coil coatings and application on heat sensitive substrates as natural and engineered wood, MDF and plastics.
Key success factors in future will be related to further improvements in flow out/appearance of resulting films, new methods of application, a curing schedule at lower temperatures and improvements in outdoor durability.
Concerning the outdoor suitability the reader should keep in mind that the surface is exposed to a whole variety of potential aggressive media and conditions temperature change, sun light, humidity, oxygen, air polluants like nitric and sulfur oxides, ozone and others. In contact with these media the polymer matrix will undergo chemical and photochemical degradation reactions and hydrolysis. In today's discussion, degradation by fungi, mildew and bacteria is considered as well. Corresponding degradation mechanism, the test schemes for coatings in lab scale and real outdoor exposures in aggressive climates like in Florida or Arizona is reviewed in a large number of articles in literature.Note de contenu : - STANDARD DURABLE POWDER COATING SYSTEMS
