Résumé : |
The use of supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) as a carrier for coating systems is particularly attractive because of its potential for use in truly environmentally benign coating systems. In this paper, recent advances in the use of silicone (siloxane) stabilizers will be discussed. Particular emphasis will be placed on progress in the development of stabilizers for dispersion polymerization, while drawing attention to the relevance of this technology to scCO2 coating systems. The versatility offered by siloxane chemistry should enable suitable stabilizers to be designed to offer the balance of properties required for the development of effective supercritical dispersion coating systems. |
