Réduction des composés organiques volatilsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In past years Lamberti has focused its efforts on a class of photoinitiators called difunctional; beyond the several positive characteristics they have - well identified and characterised molecules, which show high reactivity and can be used at the same weight as monofunctional ones, totally under control alter irradiation (in fact ail by-products are well-known), defined and detectable, easy handling because of their physical aspect (powder) - during the photocuring process they develop low or even zero (in same cases) VOC. Revêtements -- Séchage sous rayonnement ultravioletIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Growing interests in cationic photopolymerisation of monomers as a facile, economic and environmentally safe method for preparation of crosslinked polymer coatings, stimulates search for new photoinitiators. Usually, diaryliodonium salts are used in industry as the cationic polymerisation photoinitiators. However, from a practical point of view, the most important feature of the photoinitiators is their optical characteristics, in particuler the range and extent of light absorption. Nowadays, ail of the iodonium photoinitiators used in industry exhibit similar absorption characteristics and absorb UV light in the range of Xmax = 220-280nm. This creates a technological problem, because there are no economical and simultaneously powerful enough light sources that would emit UV light in that range. In the photocurable coatings industry medium pressure mercury lamps are used, which emit most of their energy at about 365nm and only a fraction is emitted in the absorption range of commercial iodonium photoinitiators. Hence, there is a mismatch between the absorption characteristics of the photoinitiators and the emission characteristics of industriel light sources, which lowers the photo-polymerisation rate. In order to solve that problem, we developed several GalOrti (Photo High Technologies Ltd) iodonium photoinitiators. The performance of the GalOrti photoinitiators in cationic photopolymerisation of an example monomer will be presented using the Fluorescence Probe Technology Method. Revêtements -- Séchage sous rayonnementIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Aficionados of 1960s music will likely recall the 1967 Sonny and Cher classic The Beat Goes On, a catchy commentary on the world's constant, unrelenting progression forward and that no matter how drastically some things change, other things will perpetually remain the same.
PPCJ readers may agree that this same, timeless observation remains truc within the coatings, inks and adhesives industries as well. Even as processes and technologies continue to evolve and improve, several bottom-line business tenets remain constant. Just as in the days of old, businesses today continue to innovate the development of attractive, high quality products that are manufactured efficiently and safety, and are both attractively priced to the buyer and provide a decent margin to the business.
So what does this have to do with electron beam (EB) technology ? As it turns out, plenty. Long regarded as a highly specialised option for curing and crosslinking inks, coatings and adhesives, EB technology continues to earn the reputation of being both powerful and cost effective.
Though it is a technology that has existed for more than 40 years, many seasoned coatings professionals are still not aware of EB curing as an alternative to oven drying (or ultraviolet (UV) curing). Initially intrigued by EB's ability to cure surfaces by altering molecular structures instead of thermally evaporating solvents or water (or in the case of UV curing, instead of using light-activated photoinitiators to initiate curing), these professionals become even more interested in EB once they appreciate that this technology can make their printed surfaces more abrasion resistant, more attractive and - often most importantly - can provide substantial cost savings to their company.Note de contenu : - Why EB is often the better solution

ParquetsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : To preserve the beauty of wood that has been coated, BASF can help formulators to meet efficient and eco-friendly requirements with its portfolio of resins, additives and pigments.
The paints and coatings industry in Europe faces substantial challenges. Efficient production should go hand in hand with ever better performance. At the same time, coatings must meet the increasing demand for health-friendly and resource-saving solutions. This is especially true for furniture and flooring coatings, which play a key role in everybody's living areas. Providing innovative products with similar coating properties to established systems is one of the biggest challenges.
