Titre : Blanc fixe : more than a extender Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Jörg Hocken, Auteur Année de publication : 2004 Article en page(s) : p. 47-56 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Blanc fixe was known for a long time as an extender for coatings and plastics. However, today Blanc fixe is gaining more and more the character of an indispensable additive. Key technologies in designing tailor-made Blancfixe grades are adjusted precipitation and physical or chemical secondary treatment to create desired particle sizes ranging from some tenths of a micron down to the nanometers, inorganic coatings or outstanding dispersibility. Bright, high gloss top coats with low haze can be formulated, as well as solvent borne coatings with a very low VOC or E-coats. Very fine grades can stabilise high end qualities against flocculation, rub out and overbaking. Due to their transparency they can be used either in coloured or black systems. Very coarse grades, which are available in cubic shape, can create translucent coverings. Coated with an inorganic semiconductor Blanc fixe becomes electroconductive - access to non black antistatic primers, printing inks etc. Note de contenu : GENERAL PROPERTIES : Blanc fixe in coatings - Blanc fixe in high solid coatings - Blanc fixe in powder coatings - Waterborne coatings - Electroconductive coatings - Automotive coatings. Titre : Sulfate route TiO2 heading for the next millennium Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Wolf-D. Griebler, Auteur ; Jörg Hocken, Auteur ; Klaus Schulte, Auteur Année de publication : 1998 Article en page(s) : p. 34-39 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Although the bias of the environmentally dirty sulfate process and the clean chloride process survived in the heads of users, consultants, journalists and politicians, in todays reality the environmental impact of both routes is comparable. Expenses for the environment can be, at least partially, compensated by transforming waste materials into otherwise useable raw materials or sellable products. This overview demonstrates the potential of sulfate TiO2 plants to stay competitive in a global market under changing conditions, not only costs or quality wise, but especially due to the broader variety of possible products.
