Sécurité des produits de consommationIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Through regularly testing complaint samples for the microbial count, a market surveillance can be performed, which can serve for controlling of all measures applied for reaching the microbiological safety of the cosmetic products. If counts which exceed given limits are detected, processes in development and production have to be checked and further chemical and microbiological testing has to be applied in course of the essential root cause analysis. A risk assessment must be performed and decisions for follow up-actions (corrections and corrective actions) have to be made, which must then be carefully implemented. In this way detected failures will lead to improvements of product and quality system. Such approach has a special importance for the valid application of the preservative efficacy test (PET) and its significance for the microbiological product safety. On the other hand, microbiological findings from the complaint samples which are in conformity with the given limit counts indicate the sufficient efficacy of system measures to reach the microbiological product safety. Tests microbiologiquesIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : “Specified microorganisms“ are used as a separate group when defining limit counts for cosmetic products (e.g., ISO 17516). Usually, there are four species of microorganisms assigned to this specification group. It has, however, been known for a long time that more than these mentioned species might be of relevance as health hazards for the product user and also for causing alterations of the product characteristics. To reliably reach product quality and safety targets for the product, it is recommended to increase the above-mentioned specification-group in a product-related way through further relevant microorganisms. The species explicitly mentioned in the given norms should therefore be understood as “examples” and not as “exclusive”. To select further species to be assigned to the “specified microorganisms”, detected contaminants should be identified and assessed, or microorganism should be chosen according to experience or literature data. It is essential that species detected and classed as “specified microorganisms” are also sufficiently taken into consideration when defining procedures, measures and examinations as components of the quality management system (e.g., requirements for raw materials, examination methods for control purposes and spectrum of test organisms for preservation efficacy tests). Tests d'efficacitéIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Microbiological issues are playing a central role in the quality assurance of cosmetics. This requires appropriate microbio-logical expertise and know-how. On the homepage of the DGK (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Kosmetik) you can find two new documents from the DGK expert group "Microbiology and Industrial Hygiene", which provide valuable assistance regarding the microbiological safety of bars of soap (https:// web.dgk-ev.de/publikationen-fg2/). One of the documents is a shortened version. Here are the details. Note de contenu : - Key aspects of usig bars of soap
- Microbiological basics
- Survival of micro-organisms on bars of soap
