The latter is especially relevant for reactive dyes when the hydrolysed dye has to be removed from the fibre. The substantivity of the hydrolysed form of 46 commercially important reactive dyes was analysed at two temperatures for a wide range of dye amounts, pH values and electrolyte concentrations. The results showed that substantivity was highly dye-specific and varied, for each variable analysed, almost within the entire theoretically possible range of values. Substantivity values correlated best with the number of sulphatoethylsulphone groups in the dye molecule and dye solubility in the presence of sodium chloride. Sensitivity to electrolyte, pH, dye amount and temperature broadly correlated with each other, implying that a reduction in electrolyte concentration and an increase in pH and temperature are more beneficial in the removal of highly substantive reactive dyes. Some dyes remained highly substantive even at 90 °C, indicating that dye removal in industrial processes, too, would be difficult. For dyes with little substantivity, however, wash baths at the boil do not appear to be necessary, neither is the significant removal of electrolyte before rinsing at elevated temperature. Spectroscopie d'impédance électrochimiqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : 3,4-Ethylenedioxythiophene and 3-octylthiophene were electropolymerized on glassy carbon electrodes (GCE) to compare with four different electrolytes [lithium perchlorate (LiClO4), sodium perchlorate, tetraethylammonium tetrafluoroborate, and tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate] in a solvent of acetonitrile (CH3CN). Modified electrodes were characterized by cyclic voltammetry, attenuated total reflectance–Fourier transform IR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray analysis, atomic force microscopy, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Nyquist and Bode plots for magnitude, phase, admittance, and capacitance on both polymer-modified electrodes were comparatively investigated in detail. The highest low-frequency capacitance (C LF) and double-layer capacitance (C dl) were obtained in 0.1 M LiClO4/CH3CN for poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) and poly(octylthiophene)/GCE. EIS data were fitted to the equivalent circuit model of R(Q(R(C(R(C(RW))))))(CR), which is used to investigate circuit parameters. RhéologieIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Rheology modifiers - This study on studying different properties of Lubrizol's range of short to medium flow crosslinked polyacrylate rheology modifiers and their effect on the sensory of the end products. It will also attempt to correlate the rheological properties to skin sensory attributes.
By linking and understanding these properties, formulators can thus easily choose the best rheology modifiers for developing skin care formulations with the right sensory attributes that positively influence the consumers' perceptions.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JRB2UpiTX88C72O0VPzw-bZJrRn47NJC/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10364

SurfactantsIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : Natural cellulosic fiber derived from Ficus carica, was used as eco-friendly biosorbent after alkali treatment for methylene blue dye remediation from aqueous system. The biosorbent was characterized by instrumental techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The equilibrium behavior of the biosorbent was investigated in presence of electrolyte and surfactants by batch adsorption experiments. It was observed that in presence of ionic surfactants such as sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (SDS) and cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTABr), the adsorption capacity decreased from 38.97 mg g–1to 35.64 mg g–1and 36.75 mg g–1respectively. The equilibrium data were analyzed using the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models and were best represented by the Langmuir isotherm model. The pseudo second order kinetic model adequately describes the kinetic data in comparison to first order model. Thermodynamic studies indicated that the adsorption was endothermic and spontaneous. The desorption studies illustrated that the removal of methylene blue dye at optimized condition was 64.95%, out of which 41.53% of methylene blue dye can be recovered by desorption in first cycle. Thus, the biosorbent used in this work proved to be effective materials for the treatment of dye contaminated aqueous systems.
