Résumé : |
Polyamide 6 - Studies on a 3-material system consisting of a polyamide 6 matrix, a flexible phase based on a polyether block copolymer, and a nanofiller provide information on how to tailor stiffness/toughness properties to suit the intended purpose. In this way, the requirements of widely diverse applications can be precisely fulfilled. |
Note de contenu : |
- LEARNING FROM 2-MATERIAL SYSTEMS : Desired property rango for a multiphase PA6 composite material
- INCREASE IN TOUGHNESS : Atomic force micrograph of flexible phae dispersion within the PA6 matrix in the nm range
- STIFNESS INCREASED : Transmission electron micrograph showing the well coupled flexible phase in the PA6 blend - Change in the mechanical property value of PA6 as a function of flexible phase content
- IMPROVED TOUGHNES/STIFFNESS BALANCE : Transmission electron micrograph showing the homogeneous dispersion of the flexible phase and layer silicate platelets in the multiphase PA6 composite - Change in the mechanical property values of PA6 as a function of layer silicate content |
