Titled 'Xenon Arc Exposure Test with Enhanced Light and Water Exposure for Transportation Coatings', ASTM D7869 is the result of a decade of research by a consortium of leaders in the automotive, aerospace, coatings and weathering testing industries. The new standard was written by subcommittee D01.27 on accelerated testing of paints and coatings. Douglas Grossman, Subcommittee Chairperson and President of Q-Lab Corporation, calls ASTM D7869, "The most thoroughly researched weathering test procedure ever developed:' What makes this new standard so special ? PhotopilesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The specific challenges of how the principles of weathering testing can be applied to durability testing of PV modules are discussed by Dipl-Phys Andreas Riedl, Atlas Material Testing Technology, who suggests one approach to an appropriate test programme.
Photovoltaic (PV) modules combine a variety of materials and components like glass, encapsulants, backsheets, adhesives, framing and fixtures, junction boxes and cables. Each component reacts to the impact of solar radiation, heat and moisture in its specific way and contributes to the overall weather ageing of the complete module. Due to the complex nature of the system, the high lifetime expectation and the size of the test specimens, weathering testing of PV modules is both a technical and economic challenge. Nevertheless, appropriate accelerated weathering test methods for complete PV modules, as well as their individuel mate-rials and components are required to back up warranty statements, support bankability, ensure return of investment and avoid liability claims.Note de contenu : - Weathering takes time as the maximum stress levels have to be realistic
- Primary weather factors have to act simultaneously and in a cyclic manner
- The laboratory light has to resemble the sun to avoid unrealistic degradation
- HOW LONG WILL A MODULE LAST ?
- ENVIRONMENTAL DURABILITY TESTING OF PV MODULES : The laboratory test equipment used has to be big enough tohold a full module - All relevant stresses (heat, moisture, radiation, salt,freeze-thaw, corrosion, etc.) have to be applied on the same module under test, as they are in the real world - The primary weather factors heat, moisture and radiation have to be applied simultaneously and in a cyclic manner - The test programme has to be long enough to achieve sufficient accumulation of stresses and damage - The PV modules have to be operated during weathering testing - In addition to the laboratory accelerated test, identical modules should be exposed outdoors under benchmark conditions for referenceEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QW0gBR4s3pW_jeA1QkZ5fRco6FfBv_WB/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=19314

The use of wetting and dispersing additives in reactive adhesives and sealants gives more freedom to the formulator. The technical performance of adhesives can be improved by adding more functional filler and keeping the viscosity constant. Cost benefits can be achieved with higher filler loadings. Furthermore, the controlled flocculating wetting and dispersing additives provide anti-settling properties and avoid filler sedimentation or phase separation. This eases the handling and application of adhesives.Note de contenu : - Working mechanism of wetting and dispersing additives

Paint manufacturers are increasingly using colour pastes
in as many coating formulations as possible. Pastes can be blended with one another or added to binders and other components and thus incorporated into a paint formulation in a relatively short time. The mixing of small batches, elimination of expensive cleaning operations and the reduction of the raw material inventories, machiner) occupancy and space requirements, leads to lower manufacturing costs.
CONCLUSION : Allnex has extended its range of grinding media with the introduction of the truc universal grinding medium Additol XW 6565 for both solventborne and waterborne decorative paints. Additol XW 6565 joins the other grinding media available for water-based automotive and protective coatings and solvent-based industrial systems.
Additol XW 6565 clearly brings advantages for the manufacture of pigment pastes and paints in the decorative market.
- Effective in waterborne and solventborne systems
- Cost-efficient manufacturing due to cycle time and inventory reduction and equipment flexibility
- High pigment colour efficiency
- Higher pigment loading at moderate viscosities for easy incorporation
- Improved anti-floating effect, colour and paste stability, and compatibility with solventborne resins e Emulsifier-free
- Improved water and weather resistance in exterior paints
- Ultra-low VOCs
- Good performance in POS tinting machines.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Up5aZBt0p6QexM-9ohqr0gMloQzGJSz1/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=19317

Revêtements organiquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Reducing the repainting frequency of exterior coatings is a wish for most building owners, therefore, there is a continuous effort to develop longer lasting paints. A new family of pure acrylic binders has been designed to associate on to mineral particles present in a peint formulation, in particular Ti02 but also extenders, to space them optimally and offer a homogeneous peint film with superior exterior durability. Naturel exposure data in different climatic conditions confirm the benefits of this new binder technology, showing superior cheik resistance, gloss and colour retention and efflorescence resistance. The adsorption of these newly designed acrylic binders on to Ti02 pigment results, as well in a boost in hiding, which allows the paint formulator to reduce the pigment level and improve the sustainability profile of the paints.
