A variety of adhesives used in this segment often still rely on GLYMO as an adhesion promoter. As legislative frameworks and regulations are very likely to undergo fundamental paradigm change in 2020, Henkel decided to gather its expert and shed light on this topic. Note de contenu : - Fig. 2 : The silane group of GLYMO forms a covalent bond to the aluminum surface while the epoxy group reacts with the polyurethane adhesives. This reaction leads to a stable and heat resistant bond
- Fig. 3 : The architecture of multi-layer packaging is highly dependent on high-performance adhesives which enable a lasting and secure bond of materials
- Fig. 4 : Especially for lamination of flexible packages intended for sensitive food stuff, GLYMO- and GLYEO-free solutions will be adhesives of choiceEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dH2tcAGDMWWGKcsi7j70RHjyNuWLpnke/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=33595

Polymères à terminaison silaneIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : To provide building materials with an elastic bond or seal, particularly flexible and elastic sealing compounds are needed. Now silane-terminated polymers are available for the first time with which such sealants and adhesives can be produced in the highest quality - even without plasticizers. Note de contenu : - Low modulus - ideal for sensitive substrates
- Silane-terminated polymers
- Versatile and easily mixable
- High elasticity low modulus
- Expansion joints and windows
- Binder for universally applicable adhesives
- Fig. 1 : In construction engineering, joints are often found between components with sensitive substrates that are prone to erode and detach from the surface
- Fig. 2 : When building components meet, they inevitably form a joint. For the joint to remain permanently sealed, the sealant must be able to accommodate the changes in joint dimensions again and again without tearing or detaching from the surface
- Fig. 3 : GENIOSIL XM 25 yields low-modulus sealants with exceptionally high elastic recovery
- Fig. 4 : Tests show that GENIOSIL XM 25 yields low-modulus sealants with reliable adhesion to a wide range of substrates
- Fig. 5 : Tests show that sealants formulated with GENIOSIL XM 25 have a longer skin over time (SOT) (upper chart) and a lower modulus than comparable products (lower chart). This provides better protection for vulnerable joint faces, for example of prefabricated concrete parts or window frames
- Fig. 6 : Weathering tests show that sealants based on GENIOSIL XM 25 retain their elasticity for years. The test samples were manufactured according to DIN 150 7389 and were stretched twice their original length
- Fig. 7 : GENIOSIL XM 25 was developed for stressed expansion and connection joints. A typical application are expansion joints in buildings made of industrially prefabricated concrete parts, which are built in large numbers all over the worldEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1t2Gq8HnGpUvKZw5F21Gri5Bq9XzBZIoP/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=30729

Transparence (optique)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : An ambient-curable hybrid resin (ACHR) terminated with trimethoxysilane functional groups, synthesized through a simple ring-opening reaction between 3-glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (KH560) and 4,4′-methylenebis (cyclohexylamine) (PACM), was applied to the surface of a transparent organic polymer to produce a robust, flexible, and transparent protective hybrid film, moisture cured at room temperature. The structure, morphology, and optical, mechanical, and thermal properties of the obtained hybrid film were evaluated. The hybrid film allowed the transmittance of more than 87% of visible light (at 600 nm), maintaining almost the same high transparency as bare PET film. The unique flexible segments and rigid segments in the inorganic–organic hybrid structure of the film realized superior resistance to bending and scratching. The hybrid film-coated PET demonstrated excellent flexibility, with an extremely low bending radius, illustrated by wrapping around a 1-mm mandrel bar without cracking. In addition, the hybrid film exhibited superior pencil hardness (of 2H) and excellent wear durability, i.e., no scratching after being subjected to 200 abrasion cycles using #0000 steel wool under a 19.6 kPa load. The robust, flexible, and transparent protective film developed here, and its simple and efficient preparation method, should have extensive application prospects. Note de contenu : - Materials

Revêtements -- Propriétés mécaniquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A novel hydroxy silane coupling agent (HO-silane) was synthesized via Michael addition reaction between 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate and 3-mercaptopropyl-trimethoxysilane, which was then used to synthesize the silane-terminated polyurethane (SPU). The silane-terminated polyurethanes, which showed low viscosity due to the end-capping by HO-silane, could be chain-extended by butanediol to enhance the performance of SPU in non-solvent condition. The effects of chain extender, 1,4-butanediol, and NCO/OH molar ratio (R value) on the properties of silane-terminated polyurethane were investigated. The results show that the hydroxy silane coupling agent and the silane-terminated polyurethane that can be moisture-cured at ambient temperature were successfully synthesized. It is found that by introducing the 1,4-butanediol segment into SPU main chain, the viscosity of SPU was increased, but the tack free time of SPU was shortened, and the hardness and tensile strength of the moisture-cured SPU film were enhanced. As the R value increased, the tack free time of the silane-terminated polyurethane was prolonged, and the hardness and the tensile strength of the moisture-cured film were increased, but the elongation at break was decreased. When the amount of 1,4-butanediol was 10 wt% and the R value was 1.3, respectively, silane-terminated polyurethane with viscosity of 51,000 mPa·s (80% solid content) can be obtained. The tensile strength of the moisture-cured film was 1.1 MPa, and the elongation at break was 713.4%, which shows great potential for sealant and coating applications.
