Titre : Enlightening development : New UV elastomers for formed-in-place gaskets allow parts assembly in seconds Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : John Arnold, Auteur Année de publication : 2002 Article en page(s) : p. 21-23 Langues : Américain (ame) Catégories : Elastomères
Joints d'échantéité -- Séchage sous rayonnement ultravioletIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : In-depth development efforts and marketing trials over a period of several years have results in the successful commercial use of several UV FIP elastomer gaskets at selected applications in the automotive and consumer products markets. UV resin technology for assembly applications began to be seriously exploited in the early 1980s.
The advances since then have led to its adoption in many applications across the industrial spectrum. UV urethanes have replaced traditional adhesive technologies and in some cases mechanical fasteners, and have carved out for themselves respectable niches in many assembly industry markets. However, gaskets may or may not also be adhesives. As with the other approaches to applications and markets, it remains to be seen where these new materials will prove most adaptable.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uRwvwgAZNS-ImvRQ-_Tl8Ui0VFzi0qFp/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=19999

Réticulation (polymérisation)Index. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : RADIATION CURING of hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive (HMPSA) coatings with UV light belongs to the most environmentally friendly adhesive technologies. Its advantages are primarily the high material, energy and workspace preservation process as well as the complete elimination of solvents.
In the past, the range of UV curable HMPSA products was rather limited, but a significantly broad selection of adhesives with new applications is available due to new raw materials.
These new UV curable HMPSAs tailored by the formulator have well defined characteristics. New products with designed-in properties are available which were unthinkable in the past, such as offering a combination of excellent peel values and high cohesion properties; outstanding resistance to high humidity and temperatures; and improved resistance against plasticizers.
Apart from the presentation of novel products, practical and illustrative examples for the self adhesive rape sector will be discussed.Note de contenu : - Crosslinking with UV light

SilanesIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : The advantages of silane-modified polymeric binders have been recognized in coatings, adhesives and sealants markets. The increased accessibility of isocyanate silanes to the market will allow this technology to grow further, due to processing simplicity and applicability to a wide range of polymers.
The use of isocyanate silanes and polyols to make precursors for elastomeric sealants generally provides silylated polymers with lower viscosity than that obtained by other methods. easier formulation and mixing is one benefit.
As with conventional polyurethanes, the properties of these SPUR polymers can be tailor-made to range from low modulus to high modulus to meet the demands of different markets. These silane-terminated prepolymers may be used for formulating on-part room temperature moisture-cure sealants or adhesives with identified benefits such as superior adhesion performance, UV stability/weatherability and chemical resistance. Moreover, the characteristic of relatively fast cure makes the isocyanate silane-capped SPUR technology worth examining for insulated glass and automotive windshield sealant applications.
The aliphatic isocyanate groups of Silquest A-Link 35 and Silquest A-Link 25 silanes allow them to be used in the modification of a wide range of polymers that contain functional groups of OH, SH and NH2. The modification process can be carried out in different types of apparatus. The silane-modified polymers provide the enhanced mechanical properties, excellent adhesion and improved high-fail temperature in shear that can especially beneficial to hot melt adhesives.Note de contenu : - Preparation of sealants based on SPUR prepolymers

Le second groupe en importance de matériaux en silicone est celui des résines de silicone, formées par des oligosiloxanes ramifiés ou en forme de cage (wiki).Index. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : These authors have observed silicone sealants, MS formulations and urethanes that were very clean, and others based on the same chemistry that were very dirty. Their performance depends on the specific sealant formulations ans the locations. If anyone claims that all silicones get dirty, or that all MS or all urethanes remain clean, that is not true. The truth is some silicones, some urethanes and some MS polymers stay quite clean, and some do not. Sealant specifiers ans users must work with their supplier to determine the sealants needed, along with assurances and examples of success.
