With regard to the polymer 222 results and when compared to UV curing, yields a more uniform crosslinking of the adhesive later and better maintains aggressive tack. The liquid polymer adhesive formulations cured by EB develop attractive properties when containing cationic photoinitiators. In this way, the feasibility of achieving high performance with the KLP adhesive systems is demonstrated. Furthermore, with both adhesive systems presented here, the advantage of crosslinking is demonstrated by retention of adhesion at elevated temperatures. Adhesive film that occur in internal recycling processes are required to have good water-solubility and small influence on the COD-value. The dissolved and re-emulsified particles should not accumulate, as this can lead to secondary stickies if thermoplastic materials are concerned. These requirements are also valid for adhesives that are used for bag production of so-called "beaten bags". Most adhesives get into the paper mill with post-consumer waste. As many impurities get into the process together with the waste paper, these mills have lavish sorting systems. It is demanded from the adhesive films to be removable by mechanical screening as early as possible.
