Résumé : |
Maximum 25.6 per cent chlorine content could be achieved during the chlorination of butyl acrylate - methyl methacrylate copolymer. Infrared analysis revealed that chlorine enters only in the main chain by the substitution reaction. The thermal stability was found increasing with the chlorine content. Chlorinated copolymer possessed superior film properties as compared those of the unchlorinated except in terms of flexibility and adhesion. The property of resistance to fire was also introduced in the copolymer on chlorination. |
