The manufacture of paints, varnishes and lacquers is not considered a very dangerous occupation, but health hazards do exist in any plants where liquid and dry materials are handled. The physicalnature of certain pigments and inerts will cause irritation to the repiratory system. Many dusts are potential explosion hazards. Hoods over machinery or respiratory masks should be provided when such conditions exist. |
