Durability is a topic which is of considerable importance to the surface coatings industry and has been the subject of many learned papers. The object of this paper is to give a basic overview of the mechanisms involved in the durability coatings with a particular emphasis of the role of titanium dioxide pigments. It is particulary aimed at newcomers to the industry and describes principles without including many details of the complex physics and chemistry involved. |
