Résumé : |
A novel water borne epoxy paint system has been developed which addresses the deficiencies of previous commercial products. Up to now, water borne epoxy coatings, especially those for use in industrial maintenance, have not performed as well as their solvent borne counterparts. Those water borne epoxy coatings are inferior in various aspects such as corrosion and chemical resistance, flash rusting, and have short pot life.
This paper describes the development of a new high molecular weight water borne epoxy resin dispersion and a companion curing containing amine functionality. The water borne epoxy coating offers good performance such as corrosion and chemical resistance, and has low volatile organic content (VOC). It also has long pot life, and is easy to apply in both clear and pigmented formulations. |
