Résumé : |
Crude grades of rice bran oil have higher F.F.A dark colour and high percentage of unsaponifiables. There are heavy refinig losses in processing these oils. In the presnet peice of experimental work, various fractionation techniques like cjilling, degumming and urea adduct fractionantion of crude rice bran oil have been attempted. Generally, the residue obtained in fractionation has a high monoglyceride content (up to 10%). This residue can be used in wax emuslions and cosmetic preparations as a natural emulsifier. Alkyd resin based on combination of castor oil and rice bran oil (75:25) have been prepared. The non adduct fraction drom urea fractionation is a superior starting material for alkyds as compared to crude rice bran oil. |
