Résumé : |
The Indian paint industry is becoming more and more environment conscious in line with the developments carried out worldwide to reduce pollution due to coatings. One of the ways to arrest pollution is formulating High Solids Coatings. Though high solids coatings are common in western countries, a lot of scope for its development exists in India. Indian paint manufacturers are now concentrating on High Solids Coatings to reduce VOC. This is due to more awareness on part of the manufacturers towards conserving the ecology. Aspects like designing of High Solids Coatings, different binders used in such coatings, problems associated with the formulations, performance of High Solids Coatings and application of these coatings are briefly discussed in this paper. |
