Titre : Cleaner hulls cut costs and pollution : How antifouling systems are optimised to match operational conditions Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Erik Risberg, Auteur Année de publication : 2010 Article en page(s) : p. 34-38 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Marines (peinture) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Concern is growing over the contribution of shipping to total greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and to the transport of marine orgnanisms around the world. Effective antifoulings will minimise drag (and thus fuel consumption) as well as fouling rates. For optimum performance, however, antifoulings must be formulated to suit different operating conditions. Note de contenu : - Biocidal products directive restricts biocide choice.
- Shipping is a major contributor.
- Alien invasions - the threat from stowaways.
- VOC limits on antifoulings are pending.
- Pre-treatment and operational issues.
- Binder design considerations.
- How coating erosion modifies biocide release.
- Water temperatures also effect hydrolysis rates.
- Some sea conditions pose special challenges.
- Coating design must be matched to application.

Revêtements antisalissures:Peinture antisalissuresIndex. décimale : 667.6 Peintures Résumé : In some Asian shipyards, partly-built ships are completed while floating in freshwater. As antifouling coatings are formulated for saltwater use, this may affect their future performance The water uptake of ten different antifoulings was found to be much higher in freshwater than in seawater. Some general differences were observed between silyl acrylate and ion exchange systems. Note de contenu : - Different antifouling technologies summarised
- Both binder systems and complete paints are studied
- How water uptake was evaluated
- Isolated binders show high uptake of distilled water
- Uptake of seawater is lower and less variable
- Effects of pigments on water uptake examined
- Trends and anomalies summarisedEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AeSnvL0iKStiCh-r2qXV4ToKjsO6YzkI/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=13078 [article]Réservation
