Résumé : |
A new high molecular weight polymeric wetting and dispersing additive was developed t osolve pigment dispersion problems in waterborne high quality coatings and pigment concentrates. Its dispersing effect can be explained by interfacial activity and anchoring to pigment surfaces resulting in good stabilization of all pigments in emulsions, solutions and hybrid aqeous coatings.
Anti-floating and pigment dispersion results, compared to results with conventional additives, are encountered in various aqueous coatings formulations. Formulations containing the polymeric wetting and dispersing additive displays a very high degree of pigment stabilization and good compatibility with several resin types. Results with various grinding methods are being discussed. Recommendations for practical coatings applications are being provided along with detailed information on advantages, usage areas and side effects. |
