Systèmes d'aide à la décisionIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : An intelligent joining process engineering/planning workstation system for the development and design of composite materials - known as the JOINing EXpert manufacturing (JOINEXCELL) system- is being developed by the authors. To date, two primary options of the JOINEXCELL system exist as prototypes. The Composite Material Joining Database (CMJDB) was developed at the American Welding Institute with sponsorship from the US Navy, and one of the expert systems, JOINADSELECT, as a Small Business Inovation Research (SBIR) project supported by Naval Research Laboratories and Advanced Research Project Agency (ARPA). The primary effort for the Phase I project was directed at the development of the JOINADSELECT prototype expert system. This prototype system clearly demonstrated the feasibility of incorporating the heuristic knowledge of human experts with date and information to provide an intelligent decision making software system for polymer based composite joining.
The prototype expert system developed for the Phase I effort is JOINADSELECT. Designed to query the human user regarding the specific application, JOINADSELECT will provide a set of adhesives (ranked by degree of applicability) which can be used. This system was implemented on an 80286-based processor system (similar to an IBM PC/AT).Note de contenu : - Expert system description

Adhesive suppliers are constantly striving for higher bond values in rubber-to-metal bonding, and pretreatment of metal surfaces is an important element in assuring adhesion. Closer examination of metal pretreatment processes is necessitated by goals of reducing or eliminating hydrocarbon solvents and environmentally sensitive materials.
