Résumé : |
The principles of designing of formulating paints have been exemplified. A specific product of an air drying glossy white architectural enamel has been designed to meet the general requirements. Mathematical calculations for arriving at the required quantities of the necessary raw materials have been shown. Various adjustments such as alteration of the non-volatile content, prime pigment reduction, extender substitution and cost reduction on the trial batches have been illustrated to achieve the final product design. The paint application specifications such as wet and dry film thickness, spreading rate and paint requirements have also been exemplified. |
