This paper reviews the several forces acting on the particles in equipment for mixing dry solids and the boundaries imposed by equipment geometry. Equal attention is given to the mixing mechanism and machines for mixing solids. Factors influencing the choice of mixer are discussed and comments are given on the effect of machine design on process requirements. |
