The aim of this article is to study the various aspects of printing inks for high demand of prints in publication, packaging and decoration.
The ink technologist, ink formulator, must understand the basic concept of the inks while formulating any type of inks. Only if the formulator studies and shows more concern to the end use and he can prescribe the formulation to specific use on desired substrates.
First of all he must study the various types of processes of printing, the types of printing inks used in above processes, the substrates used for printing, rheology/viscosity of inks for printing process at press level, (specially in liquid inks) and the drying process of inks on stock or substrate. |
